The St. George, Utah area is full of fun activities and adventures to keep your family entertained, from hiking and biking to visiting National Parks, exploring UTV trails, paddleboarding in our reservoirs, golfing, and so much more. Red Rock Vacation Rentals is thrilled to have partnered with a few newer Southern Utah attractions - Jellystone Park and The Ropes of Southern Utah. We are excited to offer our vacation rental guests discounts to both of these great theme parks! If you’re looking for some fun family activities for your St. George vacation this year, Jellystone Park and The Ropes of Southern Utah are two that you should definitely add to your list!

Jellystone Park Zion

If you're looking for a family day in the sun, Jellystone Park Zion is the perfect destination. Located in Hurricane, Utah just outside of St. George, this park offers a wide range of attractions that cater to all ages, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone!

Water Zone Attractions

At the heart of Jellystone Park Zion is the expansive Water Zone, designed to provide hours of aquatic fun:

  • Water Slide Zone: Jellystone offers a variety of thrilling water slides including the Plunge Bowl Slide and the Speed Slides where you can challenge your friends as you race side by side down the slide. There are height restrictions for the bigger slides, but there is also a Splash Pad for younger children.
  • Lazy River: For a more relaxed experience, you can float along the 700-foot lazy river, featuring sculptures and sounds of animals native to Southern Utah. It's an ideal way to unwind while enjoying the park's scenic beauty. As they say, it’s OK to be lazy on the lazy river!
  • Splashground: The younger children will squeal in delight while playing at splashground. This area includes mini slides, water cannons, and a giant bucket that provides a refreshing splash.
  • Pools: Jellystone Park also has a heated lap pool, an Activity Pool with basketball hoops in the middle, and a Ninja floating obstacle course, which can provide hours of fun on its own!

Beyond the Water Zone, Jellystone Park has a ton of other fun activities to keep the whole family entertained:

  • Jump Pillow: A giant inflatable pillow that invites guests of all ages to bounce and play, providing a fun way to expend energy.
  • Hey Hey Wagon Rides: Enjoy a leisurely ride around the park with Yogi Bear and friends, offering a delightful way to see the sights and engage with the park's beloved characters.
  • Character Interactions: Don't miss the chance to meet Yogi Bear and other characters for memorable photo opportunities and fun interactions that children will cherish.

Things to Know About Visiting Jellystone Park

  • Admission: The park offers various admission options, including single-day tickets and season passes. It's best to check their official website for the latest pricing and availability.
  • Operating Hours: The Water Zone operates on weekends from March 15 to Memorial Day, daily from Memorial Day weekend to August 11, and weekends from August 12 to November 1, weather permitting. (Note: this is for the 2025 season, but it’s always best to check their website before going). One of the pools is heated and open during the winter, along with the hot tub, so you can still enjoy these amenities year-round.
  • Amenities: For added comfort during the day, consider renting a cabana equipped with loungers, chairs, a table, and an ice chest for drinks and snacks.

The Ropes of Southern Utah

The Ropes of Southern Utah is located right next to Jellystone Park, and it is another top St. George attraction for families and groups!
Phase 1 of this brand-new adventure park in Hurricane, Utah opened at the end of 2024, offering a variety of activities designed to challenge and entertain visitors of all ages. ​​The centerpiece of The Ropes is its professionally designed high ropes course, featuring 60 obstacles that will get your heart pumping.​ Whether you're a beginner or an experienced climber, there's a challenge waiting for you.​

Each session lasts two hours, and there are five difficulty levels to choose from, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. The Red Rock team recently visited The Ropes, and we can confirm that it was an action-packed activity, but it was also an incredible way to strengthen our team’s bond. We highly recommend it for families, companies, teams, and groups of any kind!

More Activities Coming in Phase 2!

Coming Summer of 2025 will be the addition of two Giant Swings and four Zip Lines, and by the end of 2025, The Ropes plans to increase the number of ropes obstacles to 250, making it truly an incredible attraction for the area. Also coming soon is the addition of an HD Golf Simulator, where you can tee off from 100 different courses virtually, as well as the Valo Arena, the world’s first “mixed reality playground.” And if you’re looking for a sweet treat at the end of your session, The Ropes offers fresh uniquely sugared mini doughnuts from The Doughnuttery - our mouths are watering just thinking about these!

Things to Know About Visiting The Ropes

  • Tickets: Tickets can be purchased in advance online and you can choose from the Ropes Course, the Bungy Tramps, or both. Currently, they are taking reservations through October 31, 2025.
  • Minimum Height: There is a minimum height of 54” or 42” with a chaperone. The maximum height is 6’6”.
  • Future Additions: Be sure to check The Ropes website for updates on future additions coming to the park - they are continuously building out new sections, with more coming in 2025!
