Enjoying the beautiful weather in St. George, Utah is one of the best reasons to vacation here! On your next trip, your family will want to spend as much time as possible outside soaking up the scenery. For a fun afternoon activity, you can take your children to one of the thrilling parks around town to burn some extra energy. These destinations feature everything from basketball courts to gigantic playgrounds. Here are 5 local parks in St. George that your kids will love:

1. Thunder Junction All Abilities Park

The Thunder Junction All Abilities Park has something for children of all ages! Your kids will have a blast exploring the unique toys on the amazing ADA-friendly playground. In addition, there is a water play area and a 2-story fort that will provide hours of entertainment. The park features a dinosaur theme and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, complete with a climbing wall and a volcano!

2. Town Square Park

Located right in the center of St. George, Town Square Park has something for everyone. During the summer, this is a great place to take the kids to cool off. The park offers several water features, including a splash pad fountain with sprayer jets and a splashing waterfall. There is also a carousel in the middle of the park that your kids will adore. Plus, there are plenty of places to sit back and relax in the park under the shady canopy of the trees.

3. Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park is one of the best places to get a scenic view of St. George, as it sits on 52 acres overlooking the entire city. If you enjoy rock climbing, you don’t want to miss a visit to this incredible local park. There are a variety of trails, mini slot canyons, and places to climb over rocks! Pioneer Park also features a large pavilion with two barbecue grills where you can enjoy dinner as you watch the gorgeous St. George sunset. 4. Little Valley Park

If your family enjoys outdoor activities, be sure to add a trip to Little Valley Park to your itinerary. This is one of the local parks in St. George that has a little something for everyone! It features a splash pad, 4 soccer fields, 4 sand volleyball courts, 24 pickleball courts, and 2 playgrounds for kids. Little Valley Park is the perfect place to spend the day outside with your family. It also has some paved trails that are great for bike riding, as well as a covered pavilion that is great for celebrating special occasions, such as family reunions and birthday parties!

5. Sullivan Soccer Park

While Sullivan Soccer Park is a great place to enjoy some soccer, it is much more than just that! They also have plenty of other activities for families, including a seasonal splash pad, pickleball courts, a fishing pond, and a state-of-the-art playground for children! For some extra exercise, you can take a walk or ride on the Virgin River Trail, which connects to the park and extends for miles in each direction.
